China’s Super Engineering Works With 5G Tech Implementation

China has launched its first privately developed 5G network tailored for mining, with a significant deployment at the Baudian coal mine in Shandon Province. This advanced network slashes data transmission delays from several seconds to less than 20 milliseconds, enabling remote control and unmanned mining operations, effectively halving labor-intensive tasks while doubling production capacity.

In a collaborative effort, major players like China Mobile and Huawei have established the world’s highest 5G base station on Mount Everest, showcasing the nation’s technological prowess. Meanwhile, the first 5G intelligent coal mine in Shanxi province features a 534-meter deep shaft, allowing technicians to monitor and manage operations from the surface using an integrated control platform.

This strategic embrace of automation and 5G connectivity not only aims to mitigate the high risks associated with coal mining, including gas explosions, but it also positions China as a global leader in 5G deployment, with over 2.3 million base stations and 561 million users.
